The former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Tony Blair has arrived in Sierra Leone. Mr. Blair touched down at Freetown's International Airport on board a BMI general flight at precisely 18:30GMT where he was received by Sierra Leonean Government officials who first whisked him via motorcade from the foot of the plane to the Lungi Airport Presidential Lounge.

After arrival formalities, Dr. Tony Blair was brought across the estuary from Lungi into Aberdeen, Freetown on board the Diamond Hovercraft Vessel.

Blair is spending the night inside Freetown at Special Accomodation set up for him by President Ernest Bai Koroma who is playing host to Blair.

Tony Blair is expected to hold discussions with Sierra Leone Government officials and will be hosted to a State Banquet and be taken on a sightseeing tour of Freetown including the college premises where his father once lectured in Sierra Leone.
